Lisa GraingerLisa Grainger

Lisa Grainger is a freelance journalist and editor for publications from The Times (of which she is deputy editor of Luxx), Condé Nast Traveller and various specialist glossies, from Travel & Leisure to Robb Report (of which she is contributing travel editor). She has travelled around the world interviewing high-fliers from the supermodel Gisele to African dictators, sailed the Komodo islands by phinisi, been one of the first women to do the Cresta Run, and has explored vast tracts of Africa (the Sahara by camel, the white waters of the Zambezi Valley by canoe, and the Mozambique coast by dhow).

What she loves most in journalism is being thrown in the deep end: investigating subjects she knows nothing about. Her first book, a compilation of African myths and legends entitled Stories Gogo Told Me, was published by Penguin, with all proceeds going to CAMFED, for the education of African girls.
