Geneva EBACE 2013 stands out as an exciting moment for all the business jet market’s players as three major aircraft manufacturers unveiled their upcoming flagship products: Pilatus’s PC 24, Bombardier’s Challenger 350 and Beechcraft’s Nextant 400XTi.

Pilatus PC 24 (certification: 2017)

Certainly the most surprising among the three mentioned as this brand new aircraft will combine the versatility of a turboprop with the cabin size of a medium-light jet (14.2 m³ for the PC 24, 9.2mm³ for an embraer phenom 300), and the performance of a light jet.

In the meantime, Pilatus also boasts about having created a revolutionary aircraft category: the Super Versatile Jet (SVJ) category.

The PC-24 unique short-field performance (even on grass runways) ensures access to almost 100% airports around the world, as it will be able to use smaller airports than any other business jet.

Challenger 350 (entry in service:2014)

As a logical continuation of its work on midsize aircrafts, Bombardier announced the release of its Challenger 350 taking over the helm from his older ‘shorter’ brother: the CL300.

There is nothing really new or revolutionary except an extended range (3,200 nm, 200nm more than its predecessor) and is announced has having the fastest time to climb in business aviation.

Nextant 400XTi (entry in service: late 2011)

As mentioned in a recent blog post, the Nextant 400XTi is a remanufactured aircraft, created by stripping an airframe back to the raw metal and rebuild, modernizing it with the latest avionics and engine technology.

The airframe also has aerodynamic enhancements made to it, these include a streamlined, conically lofted engine cowling along with a newly designed engine beam and mounting system.

The end product is a high quality and very cost-effective aircraft.
