WILL EU SUMMIT SEE EUROPE’S BIGGEST DAY FOR PRIVATE JETS IN 2013?

If last year's trends are anything to go by, then the 28th June (and the EU Summit) is likely to be the busiest day for private jets this year, according to private jet booking service PrivateFly.com.
The company has produced data showing the equivalent Friday in 2012 was Europe’s busiest day for private jets in the whole year, seeing 5,298 private jet movements in the skies above Europe, versus 3,410 on an average day.
It says aircraft carrying visitors to and from the June 2012 EU summit in Brussels played a role in the increased demand, with private jet flights increasing by 94 per cent at Brussels National airport on that day.
The EU Summit meetings take place at least twice every six months, usually in the Justus Lipsius building, the headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels.

Friday is always the most popular day of the week for private jets and the end of June sees the peak for long weekend travel to European hotspots. But the EU Summit meeting in Brussels certainly played a part in the increased demand.
