Mahé Seychelles International Airport by private jet
Seychelles International Airport is on the island of Mahé, near Victoria its capital city. It serves as a hub airport for the region, which comprises 115 islands in the Seychelles archipelago, located in the Indian Ocean.
The islands were taken into possession by the French in the 1700s and named after their Minister of Finance, Jean Moreau de Séchelles. Followed the occupation from Britain in 1810, the Republic was granted independency as a Republic within the Commonwealth in 1976.
The airport is also known locally as Aéroport de la Pointe Larue.

Following the increased popularity for travel to The Seychelles in the 1970s, demand increased for operations to and from the airport. In 1972 Queen Elizabeth II inaugurated the airfield and in 1980 extensive construction began to handle the continuous increase in passenger traffic. Major work was finalised in 2005 and 2006, and the airport can now handle an increased number of medium and large aircraft.
Today, the airport operates a domestic terminal, offering inter-island services within the Republic of Seychelles. Another terminal is dedicated to international travel. There’s also a cargo terminal for international and domestic freight.
