History
Ostafyevo Airport was opened back in mid-1940 for passengers and air freight serving flights between major cities in the Soviet Union.
Up until 1997 the airport was primarily used as an Air Force base for the military use.
In 1997 the airport was sold to Gazpromavia and after undergoing major renovation works the airport finally reopens its doors for commercial use in the year of 2000. Moreover, in year of 2009 airport receives license to service Boeing B737 aircrafts.
