Q3: JUL - SEP 2020

KEY FINDINGS OF THE Q3 2020 REPORT INCLUDE:

  • WHO was flying?
    There were more first time bookers, with 44% of flights for new clients (versus 35% in Q3 2019) and a rise in flights for families and with pets.
  • HOW QUICKLY were clients looking to fly?
    Uncertainty in travel plans due to the pandemic was clear - with more last minute flights than ever, and far fewer forward bookings of 30+ days.
  • WHERE did they fly?
    London was the #1 destination, with #2 Nice and #3 Ibiza. The top 20 destinations overall demonstrated how Q3 was all about leisure and personal flying.

KEY FINDINGS OF THE Q2 2020 REPORT INCLUDE:

  • HOW were customers flying?
    The COVID-19 pandemic continued to drive demand for larger aircraft - with 48% of our flights on large cabin jets (versus 32% in 2019).
  • HOW QUICKLY were clients looking to fly?
    More flights booked to take off within a week, but few took off the same day, due to increased operational complexity. And long term bookings (30+ days) were much lower than usual.
  • WHO flew?
    With most flights for personal or family reasons, children and pets were a higher proportion of passengers than usual.

    The COVID-19 pandemic saw us provide many long range repatriations - with 34% of flights on large cabin jets (versus 18% in 2019).
  • HOW QUICKLY were clients looking to fly?
    Lead times were shorter than usual, with the urgency of border closures and lockdowns seeing 60% of flights booking to fly in under a week.
  • WHEN was the peak day for flights?
    March 17 saw more take-offs than any other day in the quarter, as our significant repatriation flight demand peaked.
